Eduard Gratacós
Eduard Gratacós is the director of BCNatal (Hospital Clínic and Sant Joan de Déu) and a professor at the University of Barcelona. An expert in fetal medicine and surgery, he has participated in the development of new techniques and performed over 1800 interventions. He is the Editor-in-Chief of *Fetal Diagnosis & Therapy*. He coordinates over 150 in-person or online courses, postgraduate programs, and the Erasmus Mundus international doctorate from the European Commission. He has led more than 50 national and international research projects, supervised 35 doctoral theses, and authored over 450 articles with impact factor.
Francesc Figueras
Francesc Figueras is a Consultant in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, head of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital Clínic, and coordinator of Maternal and Obstetric Pathology at BCNatal. He is responsible for the Fetal Growth and Preeclampsia Unit at both centers. He is the principal investigator of the Placental Disease line in the Fetal and Perinatal Medicine Research Group at the “Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques Agustí Pi i Sunyer” (IDIBAPS). He has authored over 200 articles in international scientific journals with impact factor and edited 7 books. He has been the principal investigator of 5 competitive funded projects and has spoken at over 200 courses, conferences, and congresses. He holds a Master’s in Health Sciences Methodology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has completed postgraduate studies in Public Health at the University of Edinburgh. He is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona Medical School, accredited as a tenured professor by ANECA since 2010. He is also the Chair of the Academic Committee of the European Erasmus Mundus Doctoral Program in Fetal and Perinatal Medicine (University of Barcelona, Lund University, Leuven Université). Dr. Figueras has supervised 10 doctoral theses.

Member of the Preeclampsia – CIR Unit and Delivery and Emergency Room. Collaborates in training medical students at the University of Barcelona. She has published scientific articles in international journals with impact factor, especially in the field of placental pathology.
Ana Peguero
Senior Specialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Teaching collaborator in the undergraduate Medicine program at the University of Barcelona. Co-responsible for the Obstetric Intensive Care Unit and Delivery Room. Member of the Intrauterine Growth Restriction and Preeclampsia Unit. Responsible for the Perinatal Mortality Committee. Specialist in the management of severe obstetric pathology and control of pregnancies with hypertension/preeclampsia and poor obstetric history. She has published scientific articles in international journals with impact factor, particularly in the field of preeclampsia and placental pathology.
Josep Mª Martinez
Josep Mª Martinez is a Senior Consultant in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Head of the Fetal Medicine Section, and Coordinator of Fetal Medicine and Therapy at BCNatal (Hospital Clínic and Sant Joan de Déu). With over 15 years of experience and more than 1500 fetal surgery interventions, he has supervised 4 doctoral theses and published over 150 scientific articles in international journals with impact factor. He is a regular reviewer for major international and national journals in his specialty. He has presented at over 400 courses, conferences, and congresses. A Doctor of Medicine, he is also a tenured professor at the University of Barcelona.
Narcís Masoller
Senior Specialist in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. He focuses most of his clinical activity on Fetal Cardiology, Fetal Neurosonography, and Placental and Myometrial Pathology Units. A Doctor of Medicine from the University of Barcelona, he has published over 20 scientific articles in international journals with impact factor and has participated as a lecturer in numerous courses and conferences.
Teresa Cobo
Specialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Prematurity Unit at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, and member of the fetal and perinatal medicine research group at IDIBAPS-Universitat de Barcelona. Her work focuses on predicting and managing preterm birth, specifically intra-amniotic infection/inflammation. Her research led to a doctoral thesis (2009) and various articles in international journals with impact factor.
Fátima Crispi
Senior Specialist in the Fetal Cardiology Unit at BCNatal (Hospital Clínic and Sant Joan de Déu), Scientific Coordinator of the BCNatal Fetal Medicine Research Center, and Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. A specialist in fetal cardiology, she leads the research line on Fetal Programming. She has published over 300 scientific articles in international journals with impact factor.

Consultant in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. She is a specialist in Fetal Echocardiography and Fetal Therapy. Miriam Perez
Doctor in Medicine and Surgery, and Specialist in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu. She focuses on the malformative fetal pathology unit. A post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in numerous specialized Fetal I+D Education courses and international congresses, she is involved in the Maternal and Child Health and Development Network (RedSAMID) funded by the Carlos III Health Institute, focusing on neurodevelopment in congenital heart disease. She is responsible for the prenatal circuit of the Perinatal Palliative Care Group at Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu.
Olga Gómez
Specialist in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital Clínic since 2007. She is a consultant in fetal cardiology and focuses much of her clinical work on the malformative fetal pathology unit. Currently, she is the coordinator of the Fetal Cardiology Unit at BCNatal (Hospital Clínic and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu). She also oversees the legal abortion care circuit and is the secretary of the perinatal bereavement support group. Her research focuses on cardiology and fetal therapy, with over 80 scientific articles published in international journals with impact factor and participation in over 70 national courses and congresses. She holds a Doctorate in Medicine and collaborates in teaching at the University of Barcelona Medical School.
Laura Nogué
Specialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, primarily focused on the Fetal Echocardiography Unit. She is a pre-doctoral researcher in fetal cardiology within the BCNatal research group, where she has published several scientific articles in international journals with impact factor. She also serves as a scientific coordinator and lecturer in Fetal i+D courses.
Elisenda Eixarch
Post-doctoral researcher in the Fetal and Perinatal Medicine Research Group at IDIBAPS. She coordinates research lines on “Fetal Neurodevelopment” and “Fetal Therapy and Surgery,” with extensive experience in animal models and neuroimaging. An Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona, she specializes in Fetal Medicine and is a member of the Fetal Neurosonography Unit and the fetal surgery team, having assisted in over 250 surgeries and performed 20 as the lead surgeon. She has published over 85 scientific articles in international journals with an H-index of 29.
Miriam Illa
Fetal Medicine Specialist at BCNatal (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu). A post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in numerous Fetal I+D Education courses and international congresses, she moderates the “Normal Pregnancy” forum.
Guillermo Azumendi
Head of the Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine Unit at Centro Gutenberg. An expert in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with over three decades dedicated to prenatal ultrasound and fetal medicine. He has visited many leading centers in the field to learn from top professionals. He has published two books on 3D prenatal ultrasound, written numerous book chapters, and authored scientific articles in medical journals. He is accredited with the highest level of expertise in Obstetric-Gynecological Ultrasound (Teaching Expert Level) by SEGO (Spanish Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology).
Marta Gómez Chiari
Pediatric Neuroradiologist, coordinator of Fetal Imaging at HSJD – Hospital Clinic – Maternitat. She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from Javeriana University of Bogotá (1997), Pediatrics specialization (2001), and Radiodiagnostic specialization (2012) from Autonomous University of Barcelona – Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. She also has European certifications in Diagnostic Neuroradiology (EDiNR – 2015) and Pediatric Neuroradiology (EDiPNR – 2017) from the European Board of Neuroradiology. She completed sub-specialization in pediatric and fetal imaging between 2010 and 2019, including rotations at international centers (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and SickKids Hospital in Toronto). She has participated in numerous presentations, oral communications, and posters at national and international scientific congresses and has authored several scientific publications in national and international journals. She is involved in national and European research projects.
Elena Monterde
Specialist in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service, Fetal Neurosonography Unit at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. A pre-doctoral researcher in the Fetal and Perinatal Medicine Research Group at IDIBAPS, she is involved in research lines on “Fetal Neurodevelopment” and “Fetal Therapy and Surgery.” Her work focuses on preventing neurodevelopmental disorders in various obstetric conditions.
Joan Sabrià
Consultant in the Fetal Medicine Unit at BCNatal (Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona) and Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. Dr. Sabrià specializes in Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Pathology with over 15 years of experience. A Doctor of Medicine, he has published over 30 scientific articles in international journals with impact factor and speaks at national and international courses and conferences. For over 10 years, he has been a member of the Catalan Section of Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine and is part of the Prenatal Diagnosis Committee of the Catalan Health Department.
