Basic competencies in obstetric-gynecological ultrasound are no longer just an asset but have become a requirement for the current practice of the specialty. The general specialist needs to incorporate specific knowledge and skills. In this course, knowledge acquisition is achieved through a methodology based on the extensive use of images, enabling students to detect abnormalities and address pathology with clear diagnostic and management algorithms for the most common obstetric and gynecological conditions. On the other hand, skill acquisition is ensured through simulation sessions and live workshops. This course allows students to acquire both components, knowledge and skills, in the most integrated and efficient way possible, ensuring direct transferability to clinical practice.
This course will help specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics to work collaboratively with other experts, aiming to achieve early and accurate diagnoses, as well as improving women’s reproductive health.

To acquire practical and operational knowledge for performing basic obstetric and gynecological ultrasound.
The academic program of the University Certificate in Obstetric and Gynecological Ultrasound includes 4 theoretical modules that cover the entirety of obstetric and gynecological ultrasound practice, offering advanced training through theoretical classes and the interactive platform. Each module allows for online viewing of videos containing the theoretical content. These modules will last five weeks and will be taken sequentially. The theoretical assessment is conducted online, after the Masterclass session and once all student questions have been resolved. The exam will be a multiple-choice test, with questions that may include images and videos, and will take place on specific dates. To pass the exam, students must achieve a minimum score of 70/100.
Masterclasses will be held via the Zoom platform, where students can ask their questions directly to the instructors. These sessions will be recorded and made available to the students.

Participants receive a certificate of recognition issued by Fetal i+D Education Barcelona and Fetal Medicine Barcelona.
Additionally, participants may apply for the qualification “Advanced University Course in Obstetric and Gynecological Ultrasound,” issued by the Institut de Formació Contínua IL3 of the University of Barcelona. This qualification is part of the University of Barcelona’s own degree programs, offered through IL3.
